Long time, no talk. Apologies.
It’s hard to figure out your voice, especially in a time where there are so many. I don’t mind it, but it really forces me to think about my particularly melody in a sea of frequency.
For those of you who read regularly: Thank You. If I am appealing to one person, I hope it’s myself. But if I can appeal to five or ten people, that’s gold. I appreciate it.
I want to start putting out more content and hopefully generate more interest in some of my projects. I can’t exactly tell you what they are, but it feels like where I belong. This one is a little different than Windfall / Draughton’s series. I’ve been often referring to it throughout the years as my “Island of Misfit Characters”. I wanted to develop somewhat of a graveyard for ideas and concepts for stories that never made the cut went.
What I ended up on was a homage to the Cthulhu Mythos in a fashion that corresponded to how I felt at the time I was writing it: a frustrated 20 who used to feel like they were special, but somewhere along the line lost track of greatness. Apparently, I’m not alone feeling this way, so hopefully I speak to something that my generation is going through.
I’m going over a lot of old stuff (which I am saving) and modernizing it with hopefully an improved writing style and deeper perspective of what the world is and how it works. Ideally, I hope to link these disparate series together, but I am purposely not putting a lot of pressure on this project. I just want to try a bunch of different things and see how they work together. There will be a couple character perspectives in this world. It will probably get confusing and frustrating for you and I, but we’re going to do our best to work through it, and hopefully something I create here speaks to you.
